Radiator
Where's the deals? I've been quoted $300.00 and close to it.The best I've found was about$250.00 with plastic tanks.

Re: Radiator
only problem with that, once you get a quality core, and then the labor, you are up over the cost of a new one most of the time.
I do agree, that is the better route though. |

Re: Radiator
Well after a 30 mile excursion,I've learned:
1.New radiators ain't cheap 2.Radiator shops close today 3.Recoring was another option I thought of 4 My radiator is 26 3/8 and most replcements list are 28 3/8 5.The replacement 26 3/8 rad is about 175% of the cost of a 28 3/8 Any other suggestions?I was hoping to just pick one up and spend a few minutes putting it in while the weather was a balmy 50+*.Guess that plan went out the window. Now I don't recall seeing discussion on the difference in rad width so I'm wondering if this is due to the 6 cyl or if it's in the panel. Also it seems like the core support would be hacked if I used a 28 3/8 rad and modified mount etc.I could probably make the lowers work OK but I'm afraid the uppers would look crappy.Has anyone else ever run into this and what did you do to solve it?

Re: Radiator
I got mine at O'Riellys about 3 years ago. It is a direct replacement and is a 3 core, I can not remember how much it was, but I think I had to special order it and it took a few days to come in.

Re: Radiator
I bought a new 4 core several years ago for around $180. Its a nice radiator but being picky about originality and being in to detail it bugs me that the top bar is nothing like the original style. Its correct in every other way but the top of the things looks wrong and its been noticed by others which again bugs me but I realize wouldn't matter to a lot of guys. I do kind of wish I would have had my original 4 core fixed, would have had a little more in it but I wouldn't have to think about it anymore.....

Re: Radiator
I got mine from OReileys about 2 weeks ago ,they ordered it and it was there the next day .I dont remember how much it was but well under $200 and it was a direct replacement .I also realized after I bought the new one that they are identical to a 68 Chevelle radiator as I already had 2 of those .

Re: Radiator
I just got one a couple of months ago - 4 row. All metal from oreillyauto.com - less than $200. I haven't installed it yet...but it looks just like the original. It is a "Murray's".

Re: Radiator
My new one was from Auto Zone in Phoenix. $200 for a 4 core. The upper and lower reinforcement channels were wider than original. Would require modifying the shroud to fit. I had e fans, so it worked for me. All metal radiator as original.
