Are the '55-59 3800 windshields/seals the same as regular cabs?

I have a '57 Chevy 3800 panel van and I'm replacing the front windshield and seal. I'm having trouble getting it to fit, so I'm wondering if the 3800 is the same as the regular trucks.

This type of panel yes. If its forward control like a flat nose van similar to an UPS van then I'd guess no.

If its a new windshield, pad the opening, and set it on some plastic or wood blocks in the opening and make sure its the correct size, if you have the old windshield measure for comparison, someone could have goofed on the glass size.

Thanks for the info. The one I'm working on looks like the one in the picture you attached. The seal has a slit in it, running all the way around the outside, halfway between the body and the glass (like chrome would insert into it). Do you know if that means it was designed for a chrome insert or do all of the seals have this slit? My original had a line there, but it wasn't actually slotted. I'm not sure if you can follow my description.

Mine has the chrome, trim in it. I think the one without is solid, (you said so I guess). The rear window has the lock strip, which is a wideish groove. So yes your seal must be for the chrome trim.
And without the trim it probably won't fit tight enough for a good seal. If you don't want the trim you can get the windshield seal with out the slot for the trim.
