It doesn't have to be a scam..
More than likely it's an email harvester. When you respond to a Craigslist ad, your email address is sent to the lister automatically. They use old ads for things already sold, so the real owner probably won't see the ad, or even care to report it. Harvesters place ads for incredible things at incredible prices, and sit back and rake in the email addresses they sell later as lists to clients. Or more often to hack that email account to send out multiple porno ads or solicitations. J.

I expect that sort of thing when I'm buying stuff on Craigslist but I got really *&%$! off when I was job hunting with a new email account that wasn't getting ANY spam and a days after applying for a couple jobs I was completly flooded by all sorts of spam. Everything from the Nigerian banker to the Mr long's bedroom miracle, I hate checking my email anymore cuz half of my new messages are spam

Nice blazer...too bad it doesn't belong to the poster. I love CL, but at the same time I hate it because of all the crap you have to sort though to find legit ads.
