Tbi or carb?
I have a 87 350 tbi motor with no wiring harness, and was wondering if it's easier to get the harness and computer or use a quadrajet that I have? And if I use the carb what do I do with the lockup on the 700r?

Re: Tbi or carb?
if you use the carb, get a stand alone TCC control. Bowtie overdrives, Painless, and B&m offer one, off the top of my head. I am putting an 87 TBI engine in my '74; there is nowhere for teh fuel pump drive to go. That was the main reason I decided to go TBI.

Thank you jonboy, and there is a plate on the left side of the motor where the mechanical pump can go...

Re: Tbi or carb?
Yep. Mine didn't have the cover, but there was no hole there, either. The boss is there and tapped, but no cover. I would bet there is no lobe on the cam to run the rod, either.

Re: Tbi or carb?
The TBI will be much better for drivability and economy.

Re: Tbi or carb?
It's going into a 70 chevy and I would like to just run the tbi, is that possible?I have no need for smog. I liked the simplicity of my 68 which was motor and a heater....lol
