Engine ID
Have a 69 Chevy C10 P/U. I was told by the previous owner that the engine
was actually from a Monte Carlo. So I went looking for the engine ID. Am attaching an image of the engine boss with the ID info. Went to nastyZ28's website and found the following info. d 2 numbers: Engine code stamping number = V0613CMF VIN# = 17D496727 These numbers are clearly visible if you zoom in on the engine boss. So the stamping number decodes to Flint, MI, June 13th, suffix CMF = 1975 Monte Carlo, 350 ci. The VIN = 1(Chevrolet) 7(1977) D(Doraville). Whoa!!! Wait a minute!! 1977???? That doesn't match the stamping code. Anybody know what is going on here?? Jim |
