C10/C20/C30 Frame

Is there any differences between the three? I'm looking for a dually but have access to a C10 frame and was wondering about strength/load capacities. Not that I'll be doing much work with this truck, I'd just like some peace of mind.

Re: C10/C20/C30 Frame

hey there im new here, but hes right the one ton frames are normally an inch and half taller than the 1/2 and 3/4 and the steel itself is thicker as well. i have one of each and you can really see the difference in strength..

the 3/4 ton is a tick thicker than the 1/2 ton and also has added braces bolted to it. The one ton is a taller C channel, and is thicker than the 3/4 ton. The one ton also only came with leaf springs.

why do our bumpers have extra holes on them for brackets that none of these trucks have??

He was saying the one ton only came with leafs. Not the only one that came with leafs was the one ton.

Re: C10/C20/C30 Frame

If you have any search mojo, I did a post a few years ago showing pictures of the differences between the 1/2 and 3/4 ton frames.

Re: C10/C20/C30 Frame

Well my stock 69 K/20 frame (3/4 ton) was upgraded to 1 ton axles..and it hauls over 5,000 lbs on a daily basis and it is doing just fine...

1987 front dana60 dually 4.10
2003 chevy van cutaway 14 bolt FF rear.
Just put in a 4speed /rockwell as it was when it was a 3/4 4x4 longbed.
8 foot flatbed dump.

and its a 4x4 dually that gm should have built but never did

total gvw is 11,290

its a little hard to see..5,320 lbs on this load

I had an 80 3/4 frame and i kinked it behind the cab with 5,000lb on it..The older frames are better...and strong.

Re: C10/C20/C30 Frame

This is my 67 3/4 2 wd I also haul over 3500-5000 pounds most days. 2 1/4 wide spring and Air over leaf. I am always looking for a clean Longhorn frame here in ontario to put under it one day.
