Re: Lifted 1972 Chevy K10 show truck
To me it looks just like a donk with giant snow tires. BUT... thats just my take . Build and drive what you love, dont be in the car hobby to please others.
If I saw it at a show I would sure check it out. You can learn a lot from every car and truck you look at. Some things do "grow" on ya...for me the larger rims (up to 20 in) on our style trucks lowered down look pretty good. I didnt care for it at first. Overall though I like some sidewall.

Re: Lifted 1972 Chevy K10 show truck
That's one cool mall crawler. I'd roll it just like it is.
I'm not really a big wheel person, but on a lifted rig running something like 38's or 40's they work pretty well. True, if it's a rock rig, you need the sidewall. But i'm bettin' that truck ain't never gonna see any rocks. |

Re: Lifted 1972 Chevy K10 show truck
OK.... here goes.
I can almost gaurantee that the guys who love those rims are all under 35....right? I am old.... I dont have the physical strength and endurance I once had. The good side to being old is that you learn some things. One thing Ive seen over the years is that fads are just that. (graphics, pro-street, southwest colors...) You can tell when the truck or car was built when you build it baseed on the current 'thing'. To me, if its going to be cool... it has to function. (Go...Turn...Stop...Handle......crawl over rocks or out of mud) Actually, its a good looking truck. But youd have to prove to me that those rims and tires are going to do something besides sparkle. Now...Flame Away! |

Re: Lifted 1972 Chevy K10 show truck
I like it - looks well done to me. Most of the critical remarks seem to be on the wheel tire ratio - I like these trucks, lifted or slammed - but for me there is side wall ratio to wheel diameter for my preference - I like 20's on lowered trucks but not the rubber band look - but I've also never cared much for the look of a 44" on a 15" rim - I appreciate the look of the larger diameter wheel lifted options now.

Re: Lifted 1972 Chevy K10 show truck
This truck is freaking sweet, I wouldn't change a thing. Although I would never buy 20+ wheels on my truck unless it was lifted to the sky and had some 38+ tires or something like that.
Back to this black truck, it is freaking awesome inside interior, engine, suspension, chrome and on black... wouldn't change ANYTHING!

Incredible truck, not my style for wheels, but you could just change 'em. I like all of it, especially the interior. Black is beautiful.
