Best Frame Undercoating? Need Help.

I have finally got my frame completely cleaned up. I have steam cleaned it and as of a few hours ago soda blasted it. I cant believe how clean it is. Now i am trying to decide the best product to use to do the undercoating. I would like to DIY. I am hoping to get answers from people who have tried different coatings and found the best ones. POR 15, Gator guard, 3M, Linex? Whats the best, what is the easiest regarding prep work, thanks for the help everyone!

Re: Best Frame Undercoating? Need Help.

Have you tried an advanced search ? You do not have to limit yourself to the blazer message board either. I found several threads on this topic.....some good info

PS I'll be taking the remaining items off my frame to have it powder coated next week . How did it go getting frame bare any advice?

I use POR exclusively. Love it. Never had a problem. Others have had problems with it...not sure why, but I am sure they will chime in sooner or later.

Re: Best Frame Undercoating? Need Help.

I'll be painting my frame with the Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. Many of my friends use the stuff as well.
Personally, I really don't care for the POR 15. It fades & peels when I did use it.

Degrease the nasty stuff, knock down the scaley rust, give the clean metal a good scuff, and a final degrease. Then just goes on with a brush. Pretty easy, just limit the amount on your skin, since it will not come off for a few days. They have a aerosol can for the tight areas.

3m Undercoating works very good as far as undercoating goes.
