Re: Need some 292 guidance
Is that 11" or 12"?
What year crank are you running? The '68+later had 12 lobes instead of 6 and are considered better balanced.

Re: Need some 292 guidance
Not sure and don't know. I've yet to take the bottom end apart. That's good to know, I'll be looking out for that. Thanks for the tip.

Re: Need some 292 guidance
Had the head rebuilt. Now on to the block. Any one want to recommend and an engine paint? I'm between eastwood and POR15.
And still collecting these 292 parts slowly - boy are they hard to come by! I've been looking all over for a thermostat housing and I'm only finding ones for the 250.

Re: Need some 292 guidance
It's the 12 lobe crank. I finally got the motor on the stand. It looks like a stock GM cam - it's stamped with GM32, anyone know where I can find info on the cam?

Re: Need some 292 guidance
Picked up an offy valve cover this weekend, but it doesn't have the hole for the PCV setup. I'm wondering if there is an alternative set up for the 292 that works as well as having the other valve cover with the PCV hole. I understand why I need it, so I'd like to set something up. Any advice or pics???

Re: Need some 292 guidance
Did you look in Leo Santucci's book?
