amp power cable wire guage

Is 10 guage sufficient enough for a 600 watt sony xplod

Depends on the distance its being run.

For power to/from the battery, no way. To a pair of subs that are within 6 feet, it will be great.

No, 8 is the smallest I would go, if you can fit it though I'd go with 4 gauge.

On 600watts, 8ga is fine. ANY more though, and I'd definitely go with 4ga.

If it's a Sony that came from Walmart and says 600 on it... it's probably about 23w rms on each channel.

I have 6g to a terminal block and then 8g to an amp of that description and a to slighly larger MTC. I've had no problems with that and none of the wires ever feel any warmer to the touch than the ambient temp.
