65 SWB steps up as new DD

to begin the frame broke on my dd 92 silverado which leaves me without a truck. so the story starts 5 or 6 years back when i bought a 65 short fleet off the guy down the street for $600. the trucks been a backburner project while i work on my 65 longbox. when i get frustrated with one i go work on the other. the truck was factory equiped with a 230 six and a 3 on the tree. somewhere down the line somebody put in a 4 spd. ive tracked the truck through about 30 years worth of owners and found out that nobody really did anything to it except basic upkeep. with plenty of spare tin from collecting parts for the longbox the only original tin on the truck is the cab itself and the bed. the motor was good except for the old fuel pump. like an idiot i let a buddy borrow the motor while he looked for another one for his 66 k20. when he brought the motor back it rolled out of the back of the truck and smashed the tins. new alternator and the harmonic balancer. anyway ive got a buddy that owes me an old 305 for a tranny swap i did for him.he is gonna swing it by thursday after work. after tracking down the owner that the truck was registered to (truck had passed hands 2 or 3 times without being registered) i got the application for title done last monday. if all goes well the truck will be on the road by monday. lets see if it goes as planned
