new dash pad install

anyone ever install a new dash pad from classic industries or any other after market company in 81-87 pickup ? any pictures of install as im having a hard time understanding how this things suppose to clip itself

aftermarket dash pads don't come with the clips needed to secure them properly .Atleast thats what I found out when Ibought one that was not an original . You can possibly find the clips at a salvage yard or Ithink you can order them . Good luck . After you get the clips secured in the slits in the pad itself , its pretty straight forward or obvious how it goes on .

I ordered my dash from Classic Parts of America. when I installed my dash, i had to reuse my old clips from the old dash. when I get home, i'm going to check if I have picture of dash installation.

I ordered mine from ebay and it came with the necessary clips. You have to put the correct edge of the clip sideways, or parallel to, the slits in the metal plates where the clips are supposed to go and twist it into place. Once it goes in, it's pretty straightforward. Mine fit nicely and I have no complaints at all. Make sure you post some pics, we could help more if we know where you're stuck.

Aftermarket dash pads dont always fit as they say they do.. you have to strugle to make it fit good. it takes time and a little patience..
