lowering questions

i have an 83 2wd and i want it lowered . . .im planning on cutting the front coils and im thinkin bout a flip kit for the rear . . . i was wandering if there were any problems to deal with when cutting the frame . . . if anybody has any advice id like some input . . . it also has a 412 sbc in it u dnt think that much power will hurt it would it lol like twisting the frame?

I have a flip kit, with no notch...just a little bumpstop.
I didn't want to cut the frame either.

do it the right way and get drop spindles. cutting the coils you will never get the alignment right and it will allways wear front tires.. and the back. the flip kit will hold the power. but dont cut the frame..

^^^^ I cut my coil and use drop spindles, i use offset upper control arm shafts and i have never had a problem with tire wear or alignment.

Yes drop spindle and cutting coils. I have the same thing on my truck .. I was talking about getting 3-4 inch drop from just citing coils with stock spindles you will have problems

I personally wouldnt mind a lower stance, I just dont know the costs for it, So far parts are lil more expensive than my 76 f100, About how much does it dent the pocket book? Also Does it give a more agressive look for the lwb?

If you are going to cut the coils, at least do it with a cut-off wheel while all of the spring except what you are cutting off is in a bucket of wet sand or water. If you just lop off a couple coils with a torch you will destroy the "springiness" of the spring and have a super harsh ride. You'd be surprised how many people don't give this a thought. It's going to ride rough enough with properly cut coils, doing it the wrong way gives you the same ride as putting a length of iron pipe in there.

I cut 1 coil from the front of my truck 1coil=2" drop

Didnt notice any ride change I did it with a cutoff wheel on a air grinder
