Need Power Steering Pump Help

As you can see by the attached pictures, the metal tube on this pump for my BB (long water pump) is too close to the bracket in order to get a hose and clamp over it. I am hesitant to bend it without some input from some of you who may have encountered similar problems. Any and all suggestions as to how I can solve this small problem would be greatly appreciated.

Never done it, but... from the looks of things IIWM, I would consider putting something in the pipe (top of my head, folded metal clothes hanger until it fills the tube as much as possible) down to and just past that first bend from the opening. Then take a tubing bender (brake/fuel line bender available at the local parts store for $10) and just bend that first curve out straight. Carefully. The clothes hanger (or whatever you fill the tube with) would provide a mandrel of sorts and possibly keep the tube from cracking or folding.

But it's your pump not mine.... YMMV. All of the usual disclaimers apply.

if you try bending it away you have to worry about the tube breaking off from the case the best thing is to go to an auto parts store and try to get a pump that has the tube in a different position i had a similar problem a few years ago and my local car-quest had a book that had actual diagrams of the pump with inlet and outlets illistrated for the same pump there were about 6-10 different configurations of the inlet/outlet tubes

If you have access to a plazma cutter, you could cut a small notch in the bracket. Just enough to clear a hose.
If you don't have access, a shop should be able to do it for 10 or 20 bucks.

Both good points. The plasma cutter on the bracket sounds like the best solution to me. I've heard that BB PS pumps are pretty expensive.
