question about tire sizes

not sure if this is a dumb question or not but would lets say a 33x11.5-15 tire be the same overall size (diameter) as say a 33x11.5-16, or 17, .......

Re: question about tire sizes

The short answer is Yes...

The longer answer is Kinda...

The nominal size is the same.. approx 33" tall. However each manufacturer provides the actual diameter of each tire size and they will vary a bit.

Hope this helps.

Yeah they can be anywhere from like 32" to 33.5" give or take, but close. Plus the width of the rim can change it too, an overly wide rim will pull the sidewall down making the tire a bit shorter too. Takes quite a bit though.

Did you change your mind about rim size? I think a 17 would look good since you like bigger rims.
