would it be blasphemous(sp?)

to use a front bumper with the turn signal lights on a 69? I don't know for sure what years these came on our trucks but I have never seen them on a 69. I really like how they look on a slightly lowered truck. So, do you guys think it would look bad if I used one on my 69?
I am open to any opinion

I knew a guy that did that and used the 72 bumper signal housings for fog lights.

If you are planning to reloccate the turn signals, how do you plan to delete the ones in your 69 grille?

You Blastfemor!

It would look a little different because they didn't have those until...ummm...71. You do know that if you keep the stock grill you will have four(4) turn signals. That would look different...OH wait, that's the way mine is!:p

I don't know how they didn it but I have a 71 with a 69 grill...and it fits, go figure. I wanted to try to figure out a way to mount fog lights in the bumper and keep the turn signals in the grill. That would be great!

I never even thought about how I would have four turn signals
However, that foglight idea sounds really cool.
Thanks for all the ideas

I do beleive it is blaspheme or blashemer:

Quote:
blas·pheme __ (_P_)__Pronunciation Key__(bls-fm, blsfm)
v. blas·phemed, blas·phem·ing, blas·phemes
v. tr.

1. To speak of (God or a sacred entity) in an irreverent, impious manner.
2. To revile; execrate.

v. intr.

To speak blasphemy.
Anyway, I thought about adding a 71-72 bumper and putting fog lights in it too. But there are so many other things to do first....

I've looked around a little trying to find some that fit with no luck. Let us know what you find out.

I currently have a 69-72 bumper on my 67-68 front end. I think it looks odd... but I have no plans to keep either set of turn signals. Instead, I cut my own signals into a new painted steel 67-68 bumper (and I shaved it as well)...

XXL J/K

Actually, 67-70 bumpers for Chevy are all the same. It is the 71/72 bumpers that have the signal housings.

As a side note, 67/68 GMC bumpers are the same as 67-70 Chevy bumpers. It was not until 69 that GMC indented it's bumpers for better visibility of the low grille mounted turn signals.

So, 71/72 Chevy and 69-72 GMC bumpers are unique. All others are interchangeable. If any one cares...

Oh, and Kenneth's is a one-off masterpiece.

And nice work Kenneth!

I don't have any pics of the back right now . It's basically a rectangular can with ears on either end. Welded to the back of the bumper are two studs, and so the can drops over the studs and is nutted down. I used a pop-in 1157 socket from Pep Boys, but they're being tossed before I even use them as I've built up a set of white LED boards that pop inside the can. Installing this bumper is a little ways off thanks to several other projects on the truck that need to be done before the bumper install, so I've just set it aside as you see it for now.
