My Silverado SS is running 3:73 gears withthe overdrive and it gets ok gas milage from the factory. If you want to maximize your drivetrain I would go with 3:42 gear or a 3:73 out back. Hey Blaze, we might of crossed paths before. I'm also vehicle maintenance in the AF. Was stationed at Lackland from '97-'03 then went to Alaska. I'm still in but have also been across the pond in Afghan. Diaz
