looked at a K20 parts truck

Checked out this nearby truck this am. Frame isn't pitted but the rear end is some and springs are too rusty to use. 350 hasn't run for years, base model with few options but the options that are there are pretty good ones. The floor board option must be referring to the bed wood floor. NP205 He was asking for 1100, I've got a project waiting in Oregon so I only offered $550 thinking maybe someday I'd convert my C20. He passed and didn't counter since he had another guy interested. Just thought I'd share some pics

Oh and the cab mounts were so shot you could wiggle the cab on the frame.

Too bad. That truck must've been pretty sweet back in the day.

I think they changed the terminology around 71 since the wood floor ones I've seen say Pickup Box Flr or something close to. This 72 had the remnants of a wood floor.

Could have been at one time. The story was that it was used around a service station to push cars around and that would make sense with the bumper thats on there. I'm not sure why they unbolted the shaft from the transfer case.

Re: looked at a K20 parts truck

Floor board definitely refers to wood floor since steel floors are standard. The seller has high hopes. Did you leave your number? It might be worth the $550 for the power steering,NP205/TH350,and axles for your '67. Also, the narrower spring hangers, etc

Re: looked at a K20 parts truck

Yep, left my phone number. I could also use the rear bumper and black door panels in this truck. When did the spring hangers change?

I'm thinking I'll leave the 67 pretty original unless its parts have already been swapped or are too far gone. I know the older running gear isn't as desireable but I'm thinking I'll just restore that truck and let it live an easy life.

Re: looked at a K20 parts truck

I like the idea of leaving the '67 original as long as it's practical for you. You can certainly keep cheap spare replacement parts/units around with all the cast-offs from those who swap-out to newer stuff on day one. The truck restored would be a nice example rarely found.
The springs got narrower in '69,so the hangers changed then.
