What is this bracket for?
I put my auto trans linkage in last night and cannot figure out what this bracket is for. Its bolted to the frame right near the auto linkage bracket and doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone know what it's for?
Thanks! PS. I'm talking about the bracket with the round hole to the left of the trans linkage bracket.

Ok, pic is posted now. Sorry about that. Couldn't get it off my phone so I had to put it on the computer first.

Re: What is this bracket for?
there is an L shaped piece of linkage that one end was held by the frame with that bracket like that i've seen, and the short end went into the U shaped piece on the trans. here is a pic i found of the linkage it has a spring and stuff that goes with it i believe.

Re: What is this bracket for?
The was the truck stick. It looks like it's for the clutch linkage.

The truck is a 350 automatic originally. I know it has had several motors ssin it, so who knows. The trans crossmember rivets have all been taken out and is bolted in now. I think the truck last had a 700r4 transmission in it. Maybe some linkage bracket for that?

Re: What is this bracket for?
That bracket FL is questioning goes with the auto linkage Hub posted and both are for 73 up trucks. The other brackets in FL's pic are correct for the 67-72 trucks. I have a pic somewhere if I can pull it up.

Re: What is this bracket for?
So it's probably something from one of the other transmissions that were in the truck at some point. I guess I'll take it out.
Thanks!

Re: What is this bracket for?
Correct. I just got a linkage set off a 76 and it included that piece.
