Wanted indy profile ss's
i'm looking to replace my "big ass" 15 inch Mickey Thompson Indy Profile SS's Tires for the rear of my truck. when i originally purchased them...5+ years ago (i only used them 2 seasons...3k miles) i got them from JEGS. well now i see that they're on sale only on SUMMIT RACING. ONLY they dont have the huge size i have.. it is pretty much vital to the look that i've been using late 70's early 80's highschool/dazed and confused drag truck look. i see that they have the 345/50/14's but who the hell uses 14 inch wheels.. the biggest they have for 15's is 295/50/15.
i believe my old ones are 345-50or55or60 15's only i can't find them AAANNYYYWHEEERREEE is it because they simply dont make them anymore?? and they're getting rid of old stock??? i'm wondering and hopping if anyone has any or knows where i can find some. i'm in desperate search.. seeing as how i blew mine up last year before i put it in storage... my next and final step is to call mickeythompson directly (eventhough i'll probably get some bangladesh idiot) and see if i can have some custom made (in which case i want the bastards 14 inches wide)

Re: Wanted indy profile ss's
i would like to go sportsmans or sportsman pros but theres a few cons about them for me
1-no white letters 2-there isn't a drag strip for about..6 hours in ANY direction where i live sooo kinda pointless 3-i'd imagine they dont last long

Re: Wanted indy profile ss's
Not intending to high jack but there is a whole write up in my build, check my signature.
I love the raised white letter look as well and the theme of my truck depended on them to complete the look. There is always more than one way to skin a cat and if your enviornment does not fit you then change it. This is what happened to me, I could not find the tires that I wanted so I made them.

Re: Wanted indy profile ss's
I would LOVE to go to a swap meet.. only we dont have ANY where i live. pretty much just look at the tippy top of maine as close to the border as you can get and thats where i live.. Aroostook county maine, the biggest county east of the mississippi and NOONE has a swap meet. i would love to throw one on our property seeing as how we have 120+ acres but insurance reasons stop us.. and yea i've already checked ebay.
Also, Mike those tires look sweeeett. If i can't find any i might do that i'll probably break down and do that to the new Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R Radials And I might have to steal that idea of doing the big GOODYEAR logo on a project of mine. I have an idea/concept of building a 70-71 monte carlo like a Plymouth Superbird with the nose cone and wing an all. Sort of like "What if NASCAR didn't ban the winged birds"

Re: Wanted indy profile ss's
I had to redue the front tires and just used some Krylon and it came out just as good as the rear which is still the raised whites I described in my build. The quality is all in the stencil to not get any white bleed through to the black wall. I don't think that Diamond back tires has any tires the size you are looking for but they do have the black wall smoothies that you need in order to make the look genuine.
