To Be or Not To Be Steel
Since this is not polished or chrome, would it be safe to assume that it is a steel, paintable bezel? Also, it is for a 67 or 68, right?

Re: To Be or Not To Be Steel
69 and 70 came with painted bezels. I am not sure if 71/72 had them though.

Re: To Be or Not To Be Steel
It has rust on it so its either plain steel, or poor quality stainless. When in doubt, use self etching primer.

Re: To Be or Not To Be Steel
Those are the plane steel bezels from the factory. If you has a custom or CST package from the factory they would have been aluminum. WES

My 70cst came with black painted steel bezels. (At least when I bought it) I was under the impression the aluminum bezels were for 71-71 only and 69-70 were black painted steel bezels? Then again what do I know.

Re: To Be or Not To Be Steel
Guys, but by looking at the shape of it...it is a 67 or 68, right? 69 and up are more square, correct?

Re: To Be or Not To Be Steel
yes 67-68. 69 and up all have dimples in the inner ring for your screwdriver to reach the headlight adjustors

Re: To Be or Not To Be Steel
My redundant answer is they are 67/68. 69/70s were all black and no 67/68s were. Yours look like original paint. Also, the headlight adjuster slots weren't in at least the '67s. I know '68 GMCs had the slots.

Re: To Be or Not To Be Steel
So, if a magnet sticks then it is steel...right? Sorry, for my ignorance.
