1969- turn signal Switch replacement

Is it hard to replace the turn signal switch? The hazard switch is broken on mine and thought it better to replace it. Can someone describe the procedure on how to do this ?? Thanks- Is it hard to thread the new wires down to where they plug in at the base of the steering column??
