gas tanks

I've found a side fill gas tank on ebay, I was wondering why could'nt remove the side fill, and place it in the center? Of coarse by a professional welder. The tank is only 250.00 any thoughts

Re: gas tanks

You probably can if the tank has never been used, most shops will not touch a used gas tank, liability....

Re: gas tanks

FYI: You can buy a new tank for under $200.
