So I'm buying a 383 stroker crate tomorrow and its about 450 ft. pounds.
this might sound stupid but will my inline six's 4 speed last a while behind that thing? lol

Re: Will my 4 speed last?
With assumption that it is in good shape to start with and if everything is fitted up correctly in the install, the durability of that gearbox most likely will be directly relational to the way it is treated. Well-maintained and driven sanely, will probably last longer than the engine. If thrashed in use, who knows?

Re: Will my 4 speed last?
That is the same trans. used in large trucks. It is tough but not really desireable with a performance engine. The ratio are wide apart & it doesn't lend to fast shifts. You may want to go to a car type 4 speed.

Re: Will my 4 speed last?
As CCCC said, it all depends on how you treat it. Drive it like the truck tranny it is and will last a long time. Mistreat it and say bye bye.
