Great find ! Congrats. Is that wood dash piece a factory option or did some one build it themselves? Also like the other 2 guys said I would be interested in the steering wheel as well.

I know there is a Build forum, but this should be in a Demolition forum!

Tonight I ripped, cut, and pried the bed off. Then I took the MC and booster off. Getting down to the bare bones now.

Then I swept a huge pile of debris off the floor. I filled a paper yard waste bag and a garbage barrel. Nowhere left for the critters to hide!

I'll take the entire cab off next.

might new cab and what the heck did they put on the dash it didnt look good did it mess up the dash it looks like they drilled huge holes in the dash so they could bolt it cool buy

good buy for 250 in my opinion. it took me forever to find the brakets for power steering, and now im going v8. i didnt know those steering wheels are so popular, i've only seen one and i got it off a blue 69 chevy.

That's the worst-looking firewall I've seen since looking at mine. But, I'll echo the others in saying that you can more than recoup your investment. You knew that when you bought it, tho.

Great buy though as a die-hard cheapskate and frugal person I would have been tempted to salvage 'Scrapper' , looked like a good truck. Some bondo for the rust, fab up a cheap and easy wood bed, tune-up, I'd be driving around town in it.

Though I've been known to pickup vehicles for under 300 dollars and after a touch of work drive them not just cross country but too other countries...to the horror of my friend's and family who questioned my sanity and recoiled at my stories of roadside repairs.

Good progress today - I rolled the cab off the frame onto the garage floor and then outside to the driveway.

on this forum, and even though I am just busting this truck up (so far), I sure feel a sense of accomplishment to get this much done.

Mark B Thanks for the reply, But now that I take a better look at your brackets on your six bangger for the auto trans it's to new so I guess I'll look 68 maybe 69 and 70 to. By the way nice find six banger, auto trans, p/s, power disc brakes with all the other needed parts all in tac, Way good deal for that price I paid way more for all those parts for the same change over . Great progress keep it up. Thanks again Nick

Update: Not much left of it now. Most of it went to scrap. I have the axle, front suspension, engine and transmission, and rad.

The rust on that thing reminds me of the Titanic wreck sitting on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean ! How did that grill stay so unmolested ? I want it

That was one rusty cab from the looks of! Did you ever try to test start the inline 6?
