63 GMC Engine Swap Question ??
My buddy picked up a GMC with a bad 305 V/6 ... Its a Custom , A/T 2spd , 1/2 ton ...Question .. besides cutting and grinding off the old motor stands .. If we were to install a chevy straight six or a small block with the right stands , would those motor s listed mate to the trans since all parts are there and the motor and trans are still mated ..I looked on the GMC website .. But it wasn't to clear on the answer .. Sorry there are no pictures yet ... :

The GMC V6 used an adapter to bolt the engine to the the automatic trans.I would think you should be able to find the correct frame mounts for a v8 or I6.
