Wiw? 68 cst 454

So, I've decided I'm going to sell my 68 but I'm not sure what it's worth.
I've got plenty of $ invested, but we all know how that works...
Here's the details;
68 C10 CST Long Bed. Factory A/C, BBC, Buddy Buckets, tinted glass (on SPID).
Original Garland, TX truck, dealer salesman sticker on the SPID. Bought in DFW 2003
Rockers and cab corners original and solid, some rust in the r inner kick panel, drip rail OK
What I've done:
*454 .030 over, Performer cam/intake, 9:1, Bored w/deck plates & Align honed, recon truck rods w/ARP wave-loc bolts. Crank .010/.010,
*Heads Gasket matched/port cleanup, Bronze guides, hardened seats
*13k Miles on motor
*Throttle Body injection, custom chip, all sensors installed as factory so you could take it to GM and have them hook up to it.
*Thorley Tri-Y headers, Dual 2.5in exhaust, Flowmaster 70 series
*Powermaster mini starter
*Front end rebuilt with 73-87 disc brakes, Master Power booster & master cyl
*Rebuilt Ford 9in rear with disc brakes, posi (trac-loc), 3.00:1 gears, super track bar
*A/C updated to R134, Sanden compressor, new evap/condenser, all ductwork and vacuum stuff works, all new hoses, updated to cycling clutch
*New 4-core radiator, Lincoln MK8 electric fan with pulse width controller
*CS130 100A alternator to keep up with all the electrical upgrades
*H4 halogen lights, upgraded wiring with relays on core support, turn signals in the headlights
*Cruise control (aftermarket)
*Added original factory Tach
*Recovered buddy buckets in orange houndstooth, recovered door panels, 3-point seatbelts
*Spray in bedliner, was there when I bought it, in good shape but they didn't fix the bed floor dents first before spraying
*Paint looks ok from 20ft, r/f fender color match sucks, body is pretty damn straight.

It's gonna need paint, but it doesn't look too bad.

Drives nice, runs strong

Here it is loaded down with my toolboxes. 800 miles and no problems. Over 100deg in W TX and the a/c worked just fine. Cruised up Raton Pass and all the mountains between Colorado and Laramie Wy (8000ft+) with the cruise set at 75 no problem.

And the SPID

I built it like I'd never sell it, but plans change. I've listed it on CL for $9500 obo. I probably have well over $12k invested. I have every receipt for all the parts I've put on it except for the stuff I traded or bartered for.

That's kinda what I'm thinking too.
Lots of folks on hard times right now doesn't help either.

Oh, here's a so-so under hood shot. Still has the old master/booster. That's gone now.

Re: Wiw? 68 cst 454

I noticed the power steering reservoir - is that stock?
I've got as 68 GMC running a 402 BBC with PS.
The PS "fill hose" just has a bolt shoved into the hose

Yup, it's the stock steering reservoir.

Fellas, I've seen this truck in person and his workmanship is beyond compare. Everything is well thought out and perfectly executed.

He apparently suffers from the same brand of OCD that I do.

Re: Wiw? 68 cst 454

The way I figure it you have posted it on Craigslist too low for the quality of the truck and the work you have done to it. I can see from the pictures you have done quite a few up grades to the truck.

Great looking truck by the way. I especially like the picture at the rest area, it looks like a place we have have stopped at in our travels over the years.

The market is real soft around here now. People are almost giving away classics, to bad I don't have the money to buy some of them.

My son is trying to sell a couple of mid '60 Impalas, one a SS and can't get much interest.

JMO - keep it, you probably won't get what it's worth. That's a beautifully done truck.

Re: Wiw? 68 cst 454

Thanks for the compliments. I know I won't get back what I have in it, that's ok. It's been a lot of fun.
Kevin, I'm in a similar spot like you said on your blog with the multiple truck projects. I'm ready for something different. The Caddy fits that bill.
I've wanted one of those cars since I was a kid. We had a 68 Coupe and I thought it was the coolest car ever. I learned how to polish chrome on that beast.
It's also a more family-friendly cruiser. We're thinking about a second kiddo and I like us to do car stuff together.

That said, here's some pics of the new distraction:

It's an actual 48k mile car. Got it from some old guy out in the country. The interior is pretty pristene, but the paint and top are DONE.
I want it to be at the level the truck is; ready to drive anywhere, anytime. That means EFI, working a/c, good suspension, etc.

The VW and Toyota are paid-off commuters, the 93 was willed to my wife by her dad so it's a family heirloom. I can't justify having 2 projects, neither one would ever be finished.
