CPP brake and track bar issues

I bought the CPP "Grand Slam" and it installed great, but none of my factory brake lines matched up to it. I called up CPP and they said that I needed to buy one of their brake line kits for it to match up. I bought the suggested brake line kit and now it doesn't match up either. The front hard brake line inverted flare fittings are too small to attach to the soft brake lines supplied in the Grand Slam. I also have 2 rear brake lines and no way to attach the 2 to make it reach the existing OEM brake line that runs along the frame. It seems like I am missing some parts or something. Anyone else have any expience with this kit?

Also, I bought one of their adjustable track bar kits and it hits my differential cover. I don't think my cover is one of the deep ones, but maybe I'm wrong. It is approximately 3.75" deep from mounting flange to the highest peak.

I think these will be the last parts I buy from CPP.

Re: CPP brake and track bar issues

My CPP track bar came very close to my diff cover, but i have a 12 bolt rear and not sure it the covers are the same depth. You may want to swap your cover out or send the panhard bar back.

I dont have any experience with the grand slam kit. But something doesnt sound right. i'd contact (PM) cppJeff on this forum and see if he can straighten this out without trying to sell you more parts.

Re: CPP brake and track bar issues

to matchup the brake lines i'd go to local autoparts store and get the proper size adaptor reducer as they are cheap//or speedway motors has about any type of brake fitting you'd need and thier catalogues are free with loads of good info in them too
for the panhard bar i'd just relocate the frame mount for proper clearance

I thought about that, but the reason I paid the money for the "kit" was so I didn't have to deal with all of that. I am going to call CPP today. Thanks for the advice.

Mine is a 12 bolt as well. Is yours the stock cover that clears?

Re: CPP brake and track bar issues

Talked to Mario at CPP today and he is going to swap me for the deep diff cover track bar and he says that he is going to get me the brake parts I need all for free. That is some pretty good customer service. When I called he said that he had already read this post and was in the process of getting my correct parts together. That's impressive. I think that CPP will continue to get my $$$.

Re: CPP brake and track bar issues

I hope CPP will "fix" all of these "kits" so others will not have to go through the same thing. There are so many thing I want to purchase from CPP when I get some cash, but I don't want to run into problems. 67c10bub can youplease post pics of the deep cover bar and brake parts the they send you?

I certainly will, but it will most likely be on my build thread. If I remember I will post it here also.

Re: CPP brake and track bar issues

I spoke with Mario at CPP at he helped me out tremendously. He is a really great guy who is building a truck himself, so he knows how difficult things can be. He gave me the new style track bar in the pic and new brake hoses to match the brake line kit. If anyone else is planning on doing the same as me (Grand Slam kit and 6770FLK brake line kit) make sure to ask for 1/4" brake hoses with your grand slam.

I bought the same kit and had the same problems, after about four or five auto parts stores later i finaly got all the brake lines hooked up. i do believe i also had to do something for the brake line going to the prop valve. i think add some? but it was not perfect like it was supposed to be..
But hey custom doesnt come in a kit
Also the trac bar on mine also hit a little

The one that hit the cover was straight, the new one has a bend in it to miss the cover.
