Re: The Way Chevy and GMC Intended..

the short bed looks good as an ss style truck (lowered slightly). the lwb makes a great work horse with the extra space and will be more stable for towing, etc.

i have an 87 ram 50 (mitsubishi) std cab short bed that i plan to put back on the road and use as my daily driver and fill in when i need some hauling ability. no way i'm gonna use my 72 burb c20 in this winter crap with salt all over the road. it is much easier to get stuff in and out of the bed on this mini truck than a full size truck but still has great ground clearance compared to a car. the seat is at the perfect height for getting in and out. 30mpg is also great and rwd with a 5spd makes it feel sportier than that anemic 2.0 really is. i bought my classic burb to use for the big jobs, haul the camper and grace car shows. but if there is no special reason to use it, i won't take it out unless we get a good dry day and i want to top off the battery and get the fluids moved around. $3+ a gallon of gas is tough on the wallet when you get 10-12mpg.

thats why im just putting mine back together and driving it daily. i was going to tear it down and build a short bed custom, but decided that i would be better off buying a junker parts truck to build into a slammed custom. sure is nice being able to drive it.
