Re: trying to convert 4x4 blazer to 2wd
anything is possible with enough modification/fabrication. i don't see why you wouldn't be able to take and swap the x-members. might be a bit of modification, but that's the spirit of hotroding right?

Re: trying to convert 4x4 blazer to 2wd
Welcome to the forum chevy89blazer.
Yes, it can be done. There have been a couple of conversions on here with extension coverage. I'll see if I can dig them up.

Thats one, I'm trying to do one, but have not started the suspension swap yet. A new child and lots of OT at work have stalled the project, the link to mine is in my sig....

Here is another one. I posted pictures of a '90 jimmy that has been converted in that thread. That truck is not mine...... The plan on mine is to remove the front spring hangers, rad support (I'm swapping to a '76 front clip as well so they have to move anyway) engine mounts and crossmember and install the 2wd crossmember and rad support mounts. Everything else will stay, you will have to swap to a 2wd steering box too, but thats a bolt on. I the first thread I posted he swapped the front most crossmember b/c he needed it to make the truck 4wd when he was done. From the measurements I've done thats not needed just to make the blazer 2wd. Edit: This is not a bolt in by any means. The crossmember has to be located, holes have to be drilled for it, engine mounts and the idler arm......
