lmc heat and sound deadener kits
Hi guys, I know there has been alot of discussion on the site about this. I am doing a interior rehab on the 68 p.u. I am on a budget ( child in college ) so money is tight. I will not have a heater/defroster unit in the truck after the rehab. Has anyone used the eva sound deadener and heat shield kits from LMC?. Any luck with them?. I would like to use the other items mentioned on the site but like i said i have to watch the budget. thanks Russ

Re: lmc heat and sound deadener kits
Hi Russ, I did my cab a few months ago. Started 2 rolls of 6" butyl rubber window sealer instead of spending a lot of cash on very spendy Dynamat, ($18 at Home Depot.) Cleaned all the metal with grease and wax remover. Then stuck the rubber down everywhere including the back wall. Next I added the pre-cut LMC sound deadener "kit". It's basically very thick tar paper. Over that I layed the insulated heat barrier from LMC. Then over that my carpet which had more padding but only under the front part. It didn't have it on the carpet that goes under the seat. Padded and carpeted the back wall too as I have no gas tank inside anymore.

Re: lmc heat and sound deadener kits
Just know that the home depot stuff will work great! some people say it smells like tar sometimes. but non of that foil stuff is a sound deadener really....it stops rattels doenst really stop the sound waves, you need like a CCF closed cell foam for that...which is cheaper!

Re: lmc heat and sound deadener kits
I am going to check out this B-Quiet deal. 50sq foot at 89 dollars is a helluva lot better than 250 for the dynamat. It looks like the same stuff.
70cst how well is it working for you? do you like it. was it pretty easy to use. Give us the scoop on this. Thanks
