Engine mount on frame. 6 cyl to V8
I can't fine ID numbers on the frame. It looks like the mount that bolts on the frame was moved forward. It is the mount that the engine mount bolts to. I believe it is covering the numbers up. Could the truck have had a 6 cyl. engine in it when new? Look at the picture. You can see another hole in the frame.

Re: Engine mount on frame. 6 cyl to V8
There are 3 holes in the frame from the factory.
It could have had a 6-cylinder in it at one time,... but those are correct V-8 mounts in the correct location.

Re: Engine mount on frame. 6 cyl to V8
Check your vin number on your title or in the door jamb or glove box and see if it starts with CS then it was originally a 6 cylinder but if it starts with CE then it was a V8. The S stands for six and the E stands for eight. Hope that helps, on my truck the frame number is located somewhat in front of the frame engine mount so I don't think its covered up, I would check carefully it might be covered with paint.

Re: Engine mount on frame. 6 cyl to V8
Thanks. The Vin number starts with a CE. For some reason my frame does not have numbers. And no sign of being ground off.
