steering column information needed

maybe someone can answers a couple of steering column questions i have...
here is the deal, a buddy has a tilt column out of a 79 chevy camper/van. i thought i read somewhere that these columns were a direct fit into the 67-72 trucks. is this correct? are the mounting points the same, are the plugs for the wiring harness the same, etc? the van did have the ignition switch in the dash like the old trucks. i can get it for a steal but i dont want to have to modify stuff to make it work. any info would be appreciated. thanks for your time, JAY

Re: steering column information needed

You would need to modify it.
