A $65K 72 Cheyenne Super K-10?!!!
Not sure if this has been put on here already, but was searching for 72 Cheyenne Super K-10 SWB's for sale and came across this one. Super nice and beautifully restored, but $65K? Holy s**t!!! I bet he has at least that amount into it, but you could buy 3 or 4 really nice swb 4x4's for that price. Is this the highest price all of you have seen for an original?

Maybe it's the 194cc cylinder heads that drive up the cost...

Re: A $65K 72 Cheyenne Super K-10?!!!
That's awfully high. Since it's value is based on being a factory Cheyenne Super K/10 swb I think they should have done a correct restoration to get top money. The seats should be all vinyl. I like it

Also shouldn't have the speed warning, Disc Brake sticker on the tailgate and wrong style cruise switch for 72. In all its a Beautiful truck and someone did a very nice job.

did you notice that he painted the wood and spacers in the bed the same color as the rest? i like it, but that's a $15-$20K truck imho

That part is correct..the bed wood and strips were painted body color from the factory.

Re: A $65K 72 Cheyenne Super K-10?!!!
$65 might be a bit high but if it is a swb super 4x4 with air buckets and well restored It is definitely a $30,000 truck. It has the right parts and it has a lot of factory correct details. The seats are wrong as far as the houndstooth, but I did the same thing with my 71 because the black was to much in my opinion. Does it make it worth less, I dont think so. Nice truck and nicely done. I hope they get $65 for it, just makes mine worth more.

Re: A $65K 72 Cheyenne Super K-10?!!!
it is definitly a beautiful truck. i'd much rather drive that than an escalade or any other new 4x4 in the 65k price range. you will get more looks driving that than you would in a new truck. i like it.

Re: A $65K 72 Cheyenne Super K-10?!!!
I was looking to sell my 72 to buy a 71-72 Cheyenne Super SWB 4x4 in nice shape, but was hoping to spend around $15K. If there's that much of a price jump, I'll be saving for awhile haha. As an average collector, it's a little disheartening to see these trucks going for that much. But for those of you who own one, it must be nice to know that they are going up in value.

Re: A $65K 72 Cheyenne Super K-10?!!!
my point was is the price needs to be more realistic is all. don't get me wrong it is a very very nice truck, but i doubt that it is actually worth that much. again jmho. i've seen highly modded trucks that have the best of the best with all parts that were installed and the sellers were only asking anywhere from $20k-$35k

Re: A $65K 72 Cheyenne Super K-10?!!!
I'm sure they have nearly if not that much into the truck...especially if professionals were paid to do the work. It appears they used some NOS parts as well (woodgrain, A/C controller) which raise the price substantially on parts costs.
That said, I'd say 23-35 is a more realistic range.....especially right now during this economy. I could see it selling for 45K at an auction if some bidders got going on it but would be shocked if someone paid 65K for it. Although if they did...they'd have a really nice truck

Re: A $65K 72 Cheyenne Super K-10?!!!
I agree it's overpriced...$20K over any comparable truck I've ever seen for sale, I would be surprised if he saw $35K for it.
I sure like it though!

Re: A $65K 72 Cheyenne Super K-10?!!!
Nice truck!!! Lots of detail. Does seem strange that they tried to make it a very correct restoration but then added a 1972 sticker, 67-68ish speed warning, and houndstooth to the buckets. That stuff is sort of common knowledge.
I do like the painted wood!!! Gives me an idea of what mine will look like.
