205 transfer case to 4L80E
Will a 205 bolt to a 4L80E? If not the 205 is behind a 4spd now, is there a special adaptor to work with a th400? I am thinking of building a 94-98 c2500 to 4wd using a 79 K20 as a donor (using the tranfer case and front end)

Re: 205 transfer case to 4L80E
The best place I have seen for adapters is a place called ADVANCED ADAPTERS they sell many types of adapter and conversion kits. Good luck

Re: 205 transfer case to 4L80E
The 4L80E has the same output shaft splines and 6 bolt adapter pattern as a TH400. So if you can find an NP205 that was originally mated to a TH400, Then the adapter and input shaft will fit on the 4L80E.

Re: 205 transfer case to 4L80E
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 4L80E longer than the TH400?

Re: 205 transfer case to 4L80E
So to put a 4l80E in a 70-87 4x4 model you pretty much have to move the transfer case and transmission mount back about 1.5 inches plus buy the electronic transmission controller too. Seems like a pricey and difficult task to me.
