Re: originalists, good people? or radical nut jobs?
i spose what i was trying to say is that most of us would not take the 409 impala & mod it like we do our trucks. or most of us would not take a really original '65 short step & slam it or 4x4 it. i love original stuff as much as the next guy, but all my trucks have started as basket cases & other peoples left overs. i live way out in the country so a slow geared truck is not an option when piggly wiggly is 40 minutes away. that's why my '66 will be getting a 2.73 rear axle. i want to drive it. to me for my purpose the '66 has more value than the impala- but ONLY if i can drive it like i need to. to mod the 409 impala to the point i could drive it to town would mean a whole drive line swap. in other words only good for a weekend driver. i'm glad every body is different & has different tastes, and i would be the last guy to tell some one else what they should do with their truck. wouldn't it be a dull world if we all liked the same color, same model, same wheels etc. did i make any sense this time or did this turn into a ramble?
