71 Air shocks and line routing..

I wish to put air shocks on my 1971 Cheyenne Super 10, half ton, 2WD, long wide bed truck.

1. In all the literature I have, I cannot find anywhere that they ever had them. Does anybody know if they did and where did they find that information. I need chapter and verse...

2. If you have added them anyway, where did you plumb the fill up valve. I really want this to look neat enough and be in a location that someone might even scratch their head and wonder if the truck was actually built with them. Any good ideas there?

3. I am trying to use some NOS period pieces HURST air shocks. I have no line kit. I have already been to the usual places and the fittings are smaller on the shocks than the standard fit 'em all kit contains. The fitting is about the same diameter of a valve stem cap fitting you would find on a wheel. Any ideas?

ok i got lots of ideas..... first .... go to a plumbing shop and take your shocks in there they will have hose and barrel nuts for you. second is that you have LOTS of places to mount your air lines BUT the place i like to hide mine is in the inner fender well up as high as i can go ... now to be able to do this you HAVE to use brass T-connector so salt and rain and road acid doesnt torture your chrome fittings or you will cuss up one side and down the other in a few months

Run a seperate filler for each shock.This way there is no air transfer and keeps the body roll down.

nah dont do that just use a proportioning valve

The Factory assembly book shows the lines running to a T and then the air filler is installed on the left side of the licence plate holder assembly

my air valve for mine is right next to the license plate on the step bumper... the po did mine ...looks good

one thing i would remember is that the lines on both shocks should be the same length
