Does this even make sense to do? I have a '63 currently with 4 wheel drum brakes. I want to go front discs and drop spindles but really dont want to spend the money right now. I have a 77 blazer that I am parting out. I was considering using the booster and master cylinder off of it on my truck. I realise this will not give me more stopping power just a less force on the pedal.

My questions are basically ... Is this a waste of time? If I do this can I still use the 2 chamber master. I am thinking I will need to get a different proportioning valve (CPP?) for a drum / drum set up if I do. Thoughts?

You can use the '77 booster, many guys do. You will just have to drill some holes to mount it. As for a master cylinder, what I am using is one for a '67-'70 with power brakes. I also use the 'proportioning valve' from the same '67'-'70 truck. I don't know if it is actually a proportioning valve, but more of a distribution block.

As long as your running drum/drum, you just need a distribution block, as all wheels need to "see" the same pressure at the wheel cylinders.

It's when you install front disc's that you will need to install an adjustable proportioning valve, as the disc's and drum require significantly different pressures.

I used the proportining valve out of a squarebody on my truck. At first I had 1972 chevy truck master and booster that I bought new from NAPA. I searched for the stock bracket to mount the booster to firewall which made the instalation a snap. Eventually I took of booster and bracket off now just have 1972 master bolted to firewall. With my biasply tires I wanted more feel of my brakes plus it looks way cleaner. My proportining valve is tucked inside drivers frame in front of upper A-arm.

Looks cool. I am just looking for a little more driveability. I honestly dont mind the 4 wheel drum brakes. I am going to go with a 5 speed tranny this summer too. Just want to make it more fwy speed friendly.
