rear emergency cable

Does anyone have a source for these cables for a 72 GMC 1/2 ton 4X4? I have found them at local parts stores but they are not they same as originals(shorter and not as heavy duty). I fear they will not last or may break if axle is over extended. I also have found that it apparently makes a difference what trans you have. I assume this is to accomadate longer tailshaft clearance. Which makes me wonder what would be the application to use for a converted 700r4, as opposed to the 350 or 400 trans.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Frank,

I purchased mine through In Line Tube . The offer OE replacement as well as stainless steel. I had them make mine about 3" longer to accomodate my lift. With that said, I have a used set from a 71 SWB 4x4. Cables are good, with wear marks on the rubber protector from rubbing on the leaf springs for 30 years. Just need to be lubed and cleaned.
