Will 69 discs brakes fit on a 67?
Found a 69 parts truck. I haven't seen it yet, but owner says it has 5 lug discs. I was checking to see if i can swap out the whole front undercarriage (uppers, lowers, center link, spindles, etc) to my 67? Also i could use the rear axle as well. I think i remember reading on here that the 69 axle is a 1" or so wider than the 67. Any experience and/or suggestions are appreciated!! Take care

If its a true 69 it doesnt have disks...they came out in 71
But I believe if its already had a cross member swap you can swap the whole thing into your 67. I know the 67 frame is a little bit different by the steering box, you may have to modify it with a hammer. Someone thats done this will chime in soon.

Re: Will 69 discs brakes fit on a 67?
Of course a true 1969 can have discs, what CG is trying to say is that the 69 didn't come with discs from the factory.
If they fit on the 1969 chances are they will fit on the 67. You just need to look it over and make sure no one put something funny on it, but chances are really good that it will work.

The owner says he thinks that they are off of a 73 model, but that they didn't have a power booster when the truck was on the road (no engine or tranny now) i didn't think they disc brakes would work without the booster!!?? Thanks

they've built billions of cars and light trucks in the last 40 years with disks and no power booster... to include our trucks.

If they are off a 73 you shouldn't have any problems. Having the whole parts truck makes it 10x's easier. If it worked on the 69, you will be able to find a way to make it work on the 67.
