Help: I need to Identify an OEM Blower Motor for A/C truck
Hello! I am looking at buying an OEM blower motor for my air conditioned truck and I believe that there is an A/C version, and a non-A/C version. The person from whom I am looking at puchasing the blower motor is not sure, but has indicated that his "Fan unit is marked with a big " H " (Harrison, I think) and has # 3157437 on it."
Also, his has a plastic fan, wheras my original had a metal fan. If you know for sure, please let me know. I have long since disposed of my original blower motor, and kept my fan. However, my fan needs replacing. I want to go OEM, not aftermarket, which is why I am bothering with a used OEM. Thank you for you help.

Re: Help: I need to Identify an OEM Blower Motor for A/C truck
Unless you are trying to keep the truck 100% original, just about any fan motor will work, as they turn one of two ways, depending on the direction of your fans blades. Ask the seller what direction the blade points at 12 oclock when looking at the retaining nut (Dont let on as to what direction yours points). If its pointing the same direction as yours it should work.

Re: Help: I need to Identify an OEM Blower Motor for A/C truck
The difference between the A/C motor & non-A/C motor is the little rubber tube that attaches to it. The non-A/C motor is solid with no holes, whereas the A/C motor has a hole in the side of the case with the little rubber tube that pops into it. I forgot exactly why it has the tube. I think it might be to draw in fresh air to keep the motor cool or something.

It is a little hard to see in the picture but the AC motor is larger and it has a short hose attached to the motor which runs to the housing.
