Re: used cragar ss wheel price
My dad recently priced New ones for his classic mustang and they were $950 for (2) 15x10's and (2) 15x4.5's. Don't know if that helps in your decision.
I actually couldn't believe what they wanted for them! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: used cragar ss wheel price
there is an almost new perfect set of cragar ss in the local craigslist for weeks that are listed for $400 OBO. IMO they are not at all worth rechroming. You can buy rust free used or even brand new for cheaper then just a base dip. So really only two wheels are worth anything. If they are real rusty and not driver quality, maybe 50-75 for the set, if they are driver quality with a little flaking maybe 100 bux...

Re: used cragar ss wheel price
Our local junkyard has a flat rate for steel wheels... $10 a wheel. I'd pay $40 bucks for the set... Maybe as high as $60. As for the re-chroming, it's probably better just to replace those two wheels with new or better used ones down the road...
I got my 15x8 Rockets for $50 and a used Harbor Freight drill press...

Re: used cragar ss wheel price
I wouldn't pay more than 100 for the set.

Re: used cragar ss wheel price
If they need rechromed, they are worth scrap value only. The cost of chrome these days is expensive, and most places cant do wheels correctly. Unless they are free, I would pass.

Re: used cragar ss wheel price
and the problem with rechroming is they are a aluminum center and steel outer, so the previous comment is true ! Most places cannot strip and re-chrome a composite wheel properly. Cragar chromes the centers and the outers separately then they are welded together after chroming. The aluminum centers have some steel "plugs" built into the spokes so they can weld them together. So if rechroming is needed they ain't worth much

Re: used cragar ss wheel price
If the centers are good and the lips are bad you can always paint the lip. I have seen this done with some good results.

Re: used cragar ss wheel price
I paid $600 for the new set of Cragars on my 86. I ordered them through Summit, that had tons of different widths and offsets.
