color options!!! :)
Ok so my 69 step is going to need paint soon and I love the old hotrod look like flat black and charcoal gray, but I don't want it to look cheap....but I don't know what to do for the interior I'm putting in black leather buckets ultra light gauges....so I don't know what colors or how to organize them really good, so please help me!!!
I want this so far I know they are fords but the paint job rocks!!! so what kind of interior? maybe a little gloss out sound and flat gunmetal grey inside on the model

Re: color options!!! :)
so Im thinking i want a little gloss outside and then on the dash do like flat gunmetal gray or a little darker and then black leather seat, visors, carpet, dash pad, so on and on and on. then brush steel gauge cluster, steering column, and glovebox.
......so what do you guys think? oh and how could i do good two color outside? i dont think racing stripes really work on these trucks

Re: color options!!! :)
I considered painting my truck in the deluxe two-tone, satin black with gloss white roof and sides. I lost conviction and went with gloss black...but I bet it would have been awesome.
I think if you can get some gloss high lights or something to show you didn't just hit it with black primer it won't come of as low budget. Those 'stangs are nice, no two ways about it.

Re: color options!!! :)
I'm a fan of simple, especially if the majority of it is stock. I love your color options, and thanks for posting this thread because I think I found the color for my blazer (that Cyber Grey Metallic is awesome!). I too am doing a grey and black with my blazer, but the truck is going to be grey and the top black, not really a 2-tone since with the top off, there'll be no black. For 2-tone on a 69 stepper, I'd like to see it with only the top of the hood black and maybe have the flat part of the nose black too, black roof, and black inner bed with black bed rails, and the rest grey. I've played with the idea of black bumpers, but can't say if it would look good or not. Oh, and black headlight bezels.
As for the interior, I would go (and am going with) a grey dash/doors with a black dash pad and black door panels. The satin/flat look is up to you, but I personally wouldn't unless your truck has a really mean "pro-touring" flare to it, but then I think any chrome looks better as a brushed nickel look. You can go as far as painting the glove box door black too. I wish I had the skills to draw/3D design the look I have in my head, but the above is as best as I can explain it in words...Good luck with what ever you decide to do!

Re: color options!!! :)
I'm at the same point tryin to pick a color.
I love flat black, but I hate being labled a Rat Rodder. I've been leanin toward something more like this, a gloss putty/grey color. |

Re: color options!!! :)
I was going to do cyber gray as well, but found house of kolor Galaxy gray. then I found orion silver and thought about a two tone theme, but didnt like anything I came up with. So I ended up mixing the two colors together and came up with this, I am so glad I did. it looks so much better in person then in the pics. I included a pic of my dash, I painted straight Galaxy gray. You can see the difference. I dont have any pics of it done gleaming in the sun, Yet
you can check out my build thread below, for more pics and how I painted it. Pardon my mess, but heres a decent shot of the contrast between the dash, door, and black carpet and door panel. The doors are painted the same as the outside. but at the right angle it looks the same as the dash. |

everything is black, my camera does funny things in my garage. Your welcome, I saw your thread and it reminded of me tiring to choose the right color, there are not many gray or silver trucks out there. it helps to see what it would look like. they are from a 55-65 c10 they looked so cool I had to use them. They are pretty much a direct bolt on the holes lined up perfectly. im thinking about using 55-66 inside handles im not overly excited about the ones im using. |

I loved it and still do but theres a charcoal gray on the 2010/2011 Lexus that is a must see!!!!! I love my paint only til I see those Lexus!!!! For some reason the asian bulit cars have a better looking paint than the american bulit colors. I believe they are going with metalics and pearls. Buy all means check out that Lexus!!!
