Setting Wheelbase

What is the most effective and accurate method of getting the wheelbase back (rear end) to its original spot? I am moving the trailing arms straight inline with the frame rails and using a S10 rear end. Everything is cut loose and right now. I guess i am looking for some little tip or trick that will save me the hassle of how i have always done them in the past, LOL.

Re: Setting Wheelbase

I have set them up using jack stands with the wheels off and using factory holes (providing they are on both sides and in the same spot) and doing a ton of measuring to get it back to where you want it. When i built my frame i actually moved the rear end back to make it center up in the rear fenders better than they do from the factory.

Yes, i have also been wondering about centering it in the fender as opposed to the stock location. I may give that a try. What do you guys measure from on the front end? I have always used the lower a-arm grease fitting to establish the originating point to set the rear end from.
