There were two trucks..
Hypothetical question.
There are 2 trucks side by side that look identical in every detail, one is a matching numbers truck, the other isnt.. What is the difference in value of the two? a percentage answer will suffice..

Re: There were two trucks..
I think it would all depend on the person buying. Some people really want a numbers matching classic vehicle, but others just want a bad azz classic vehicle. Of course this is just my opinion.

Re: There were two trucks..
If we were talking about a SWB BB loaded truck, I would pay significantly more (50% more) for the correct/documented truck. Anyone can combine/put trucks together and make one, but there are very few authentic examples. I for one am willing to pay more for the real truck. Many other people don't care as much.

Re: There were two trucks..
Not as much as with a muscle car or classic car...and depends on the buyer. To me...numbers matching means nothing unless it is a desireable truck (IE: Cheyenne super SWB BB ) I'd say on a BB super SWB maybe an extra 20-25% possibly to the right buyer (from looking at recent sales)
But I'm sure others with more experience will chime in...

Re: There were two trucks..
There are a lot of desirable trucks from factory other than just BBC shortbeds. Any truck that is in 100% original condition is worth more than one that isn't,when they are otherwise identical. But,that would only matter to someone who knows their stuff and can appreciate the value of an unmolested truck.
