Is this stock?

I'm trying to figure out what is stock on my front suspension and what has been changed. I would like to order all new bushings and ball joints, tie rods etc. Its a 65 short fleet 2wd, it has a disc brake setup on it that I know is not stock but I don't know if the whole front suspension has been swapped for a 73 and up or if they just swapped the spindles. I know the power steering box has been changed but I don't know what that came from either. take a look at the pics and let me know what you think.

Re: Is this stock?

no its not its the front cross member from a 73 - 87. the 73 -87 most of the parts are the same for toughs years ,i would shoot for a 84 when buying parts. i know some of the rotors are different ,some of the spindles are longer than others were the rotor mounts on. so if your going to get new rotors bring your old ones with you same thing for the brake calipers .

Re: Is this stock?

So the whole crossmember and upper and lower control arms are 73-87? what about that pitman arm? It looks odd to me the way it's at an angle mounted to the frame.

Re: Is this stock?

it's definitely a 73 to 87 crossmember in there. You can tell because the brake lines are on the front rather than the rear. The A Arms are also from that year range too.

...and yeah something doesn't look right with that arm....

Re: Is this stock?

the pitman arm looks to be the same year as 73 -87 but you must think the gear box don't belong on the truck look at how the gear box is mounted . they make a kit to mount it the correct way ,so you don't end up like me with a cracked frame rail because the previous owner mounted it wrong.

Re: Is this stock?

Your entire suspension appears to be of the '73-'87 style. And yes that idler arm is the '73-'87 style also. You can narrow down the year a little by looking at the hos fittings on the steering box. If the fittings are inverted flare, then the box is a '69 to about 1980. If it had metric sized fittings with an O-ring, then it is about 1980 to '87. I know this just ID's the box, but the chances are gppd that everything came from the same donor. One other thing is that somewhere in the mid 80's GM offered a light duty brake rotor. They were 1" thick as opposed to the standard 1.25" thick rotors.
