Here is my new project that me and my brother in-law are working on. Its a 54 pickup. We got the truck from the previous owner who could not finish it. We have ALL the parts (even the grill).Here are some pics of the frame. We started cleaning it up so we can start putting it together! More pics to come!

Looks like a good start. Was the IFS already there? What other plans?

The uprights for the upper A-arms looked to only tacked in- are you going to finish weld them?

I got the truck like that, it looks fine though, we finished grinding the frame today, were painting the frame tomorrow. i'll post some more pictures tomorrow.

You might really want to consider welding up that cross member before you paint the frame. It should be welded all the way around. You might also think about boxing the inside of the frame. That thing is going to see a lot of stress and those little tacks won't hold it. It would suck to drive over your front wheels...

You might also want to take the opportunity to blow the rear motor/trans cross member out before you paint it as well. Unless you are going to run a 54 235 in it with a stock trans, that thing is just going to be in your way. Grind and punch the rivets before you paint and you won't have to repaint. Depending on what you plan to run for a drivetrain, you may want to go ahead and get the cross members in now as well.

haha yeah man i know what you mean, im also freaking out about every little dollar i have to put into this thing, but hopefully its all worth it, plus i plan to take it slow, otherwise the wife will have me and the truck sleeping out on the streets haha

You might want to figure out what trans before dropping the cab on, you may need to cut the floor for clearance. Usually the toe board for the "hump" if you are running a small block. That is a nice cab, though. I got one that needs no cutting, it'll fold right over whatever drivetrain I put in it...like cheesecloth!

Hopefully it is not to late YOU WANT TO BOX the FRONT PART OF YOUR FRAME IN
WHERE THE FRONT CROSSMEMBER IS AND YOU WANT TO WELD IN THE TOP OF THE CROSSMEMBER AS WELL.IN THE PICTURES YOU ARE SHOWING THERE
IS NO BOX PLATES ON THE INSIDE OF THE FRAME AND NO WELDING AT ALL
ON TOP OF THE FRAME TO THE CROSSMEMBER.VERY UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS.

One more thing to add the front suspension is a Scotts standard ifs
we make in our shop which is Scotts Hotrods.
