69 chevy question....blower and a stock hood

Will a 142 or 177 blower fit under a stock hood or do I need to cut a hole in it? Truck is going to the body shop soon and now is the best time to cut the hole in the hood. What do you guys think?

Re: 69 chevy question....blower and a stock hood

I had a customer with one of the little B&M forced induction blowers back in the late 80s. (I believe those are the 144.) It fit under the hood of his 72 with no issues.

Get a second hood or put the engine in and see.You could always try a cowl hood,or take an extra stocker with the hole cut in it to the body shop so you have one that's right.
