I'll never shovel snow again....

My wife and friends laughed when I bought my 85 K20 cuz it came with an old rusty Western plow on it...they are not laughing anymore thanks to 19" of snow from the blizzard that hit last night. It's all good though...let's hear from some other guys about how popular we can become when the big snow hits. Had a blast......lol

I know what you're talking about. Suddenly even the rustiest trucks get some love then.

Yeah, until its time to fix something. Everybody - my brother-in-laws, nephew and even my brother-in-law's brother would always borrow my dad's pickup to haul stuff and they would not even put gas in it. My brother-in-law calls himself a mechanic & he fixed some things on the truck like muffler, radiator, master cylinder, etc.

I had enough when my 84 year old dad got stuck one day and had to look for help because he does not want a cell phone.

I restored the truck and shocked the whole family. New fenders, rockers, cab corners, 1/4 panels corners, sand to metal, paint, complete interior , Line-X, and engine work such as timing chain, brakes, suspension. It was either the junkyard or fix it and my dad and i love that truck- haul tomatoes, grapes, Christmas trees, fire wood, lumber, gravel, sand, etc. It's my dad's lifeline.

I got really pissed when the GM mechanic discovered that my brother-in-law replaced only one front disc brake rotor and it was the wrong freakin size! This caused soooo much damage- had to buy 2 new rotors, calipers, pads, idle arm and pitman arm. He damn ruined the freaking truck and could have injured somebody. A piece of the brake pad cracked off. Never told my brother-in-law the damage that he did but after I spent a fortune restoring the truck, nobody buy my dad and i drives it!

Sorry for venting - didnt mean to hijack your thread.

I use my new Ariens snowblower and love it. Post some pics of your new truck and keep everybody away from it!!!

We just got more! Picked up another foot Saturday night. The temperature was up fairly warm so it was one of those wet/sticky snows that plugs up snowblowers and is really heavy to shovel. No problem plowing it though.

Re: I'll never shovel snow again....

We had over 4 feet in the month on january up here in MA and over 5ft if you count the storm the day after Christmas, we still have about 40" on the ground. I found a fisher MM1 plow for my truck after the first storm for 800 bucks, it was the best money I have ever spent, plus it has just about paid for itself already!!

Snow, one reason I'm in SC now.

Bet there are a few folks up north that wished they bought my plow last spring. Though, the plow gear is a conversation piece...

Re: I'll never shovel snow again....

True, there is snow down here (I'm in York), but it's not a constant battle from December to April.
