personally... you can place a bottle jack in the same location in your rig that is safer and easier to use.
I gave my OEM jack away

I've probably got one or two hidden away in one of the sheds. They work fairly well but I'd rather use a bottle Jack too.

The original jacks are ok and I carried on in my 48 for a long time to reach in and raise it up enough to get another jack under it to lift it. The good thing about the factory jack is that you don't need to get under the truck most of the time to lift it. The bad thing is that the base is really small and can get real tippy if you don't have it sitting on something real solid and flat.

I remember when my burb had it's original jack like that...

The burb is so heavy, that the handle to turn the jack screw actually twisted before the jack would rise.

I think my Dad threw it away when I was 10 years old. Funny I still remember mundane stuff like that...
